Your first week with an electric car: what to expect

Most of our customers have never driven an electric car before, and almost all of them stop thinking about it by the second day. Here is what the first week actually looks like.

The first hour

You will notice the silence. The car is on when the screen lights up, and it moves when you press the pedal. Take a lap of the car park before you go and let the one-pedal driving settle: lift off and the car slows by itself.

Charging, honestly

There is no fuel gauge to watch, only a battery percentage. Plan on charging when you are doing something else anyway: lunch, a meeting, the gym. A fast charger takes a car from 20 to 80% in about half an hour, and every branch has chargers on site.

Day three

By now you will be driving smoothly without trying. Regenerative braking means your brake pads, and your passengers, will thank you.

Bringing it back

We record the battery level at pickup and return so nothing is a surprise. Bring it back as you like; we plug it in.

Electric car rental across the Bay Area. Four branches, one fleet of Halden EVs, and nothing to refuel.
